A REAL AUTHENTIC

LOOK INSIDE:

Experience the profound clarity that severed his love for the world and ignited a love for God.

FINDING GOD IN THE WINTER TREE

But his true awakening arrived not in battle, but in the dead silence of the 'Little Ice Age.' In the freezing winter of 1632, the eighteen-year-old soldier paused before a tree stripped bare by the frost. It was a black skeleton against the gray Lorraine sky. As he stared at the dry, dead wood, a revelation struck him with the force of a physical blow: the Providence of God was not dead, only sleeping. He saw that the same Power that stripped the tree would soon clothe it in leaves, flowers, and fruit. That single moment of profound clarity severed his love for the world and ignited a love for God that would never be extinguished.

ABOUT THE EDITOR & THE MISSION

Richard Hislop

The historic Résidence du Château Blanc in Thumeries, France. (From 2002)

Richard Hislop is an ordained minister, theologian, and the founder of Harvest the Nations. Raised on the global mission field, Richard has lived out the Great Commission for decades, carrying the Gospel into unreached territories from the streets of India to the historic soil of Europe.

His deep biblical foundation was forged under the lifelong mentorship of elite theological scholars and doctors. Backed by formal academic study at Liberty University in Biblical Studies, Christian Psychology, and Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Richard possesses a unique apostolic mandate: to bridge the gap between rigorous academic theology and the raw, healing power of the Holy Spirit.

Much like the Apostle Paul, whose theological letters equipped the early Church, Richard writes to awaken the modern Bride of Christ. His books are not merely informational; they are spiritual survival guides designed to tear down dead religious traditions, heal the overwhelmed mind, and guide believers into the unshakeable presence of God.

His profound connection to the 17th-century classic, The Practice of the Presence of God, was born on the very ground where its history took place. While living, studying, and conducting mission work in France, an eighteen-year-old Richard experienced a radical spiritual awakening inside the historic Résidence du Château Blanc in Thumeries. Walking the same cultural soil as Brother Lawrence, that encounter seared his spirit with a lifelong, consuming desire to practice God’s nearness.

Today, drawing upon his clinical background, theological training, and lifelong missionary calling, Richard leads Harvest the Nations from Spotsylvania, Virginia, where he resides with his wife, Lindsey, and their three children.
